Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the PawRoundup website and the weekly newsletter. PawRoundup is an independent pet media publication. Reading the site does not require an account.

When you subscribe, we store the email address you enter, the date you subscribed, and which signup form on the site you used. We use it to send the weekly roundup and occasional messages about the newsletter itself. We do not sell subscriber lists, and we do not pass your email address to the pet businesses we work with.

Alongside a signup we record how you arrived: the page you first landed on, the referring website if your browser sent one, and any UTM campaign parameters in the link you followed. This tells us which articles and campaigns bring readers in.

This attribution data is stored privately. It is not readable by anonymous visitors or through any public part of our API, and it is visible only to authorised PawRoundup editorial staff signed in to our internal admin area.

If you submit the enquiry form on the For Businesses page, we store the details you provide — such as business name, contact name, email, website, location and your message — so we can reply and, where it goes further, manage the working relationship. These enquiries are private to our team and are not published.

We count article page views on our own servers. That record contains the article and a timestamp; it is not linked to your name or email address, and we do not build a profile of an individual reader from it.

Where a Google Analytics measurement ID is configured, the site also loads Google Analytics 4 to report aggregate traffic, with IP anonymisation enabled. Google Analytics sets its own cookies. We do not send email addresses or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics; campaign and referrer values sent as event context are about the traffic source, not about you personally.

The public site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Attribution values are held briefly in your browser's own storage so a signup can be credited to the right campaign; they stay on your device until you clear it. If Google Analytics is enabled, it sets analytics cookies as described above. Signing in to the internal admin area stores a session in your browser so you stay signed in.

Our site, database and server code run on Lovable Cloud, which hosts the application and stores the data described above. Typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which receives the network request that loads them. Google Analytics is used only when a measurement ID is configured. We use an AI model provider to help draft content for partner businesses; the material sent to it is business and editorial content, not subscriber or enquiry contact details.

Data is held in a managed database with row-level access rules. Subscriber records and business enquiries cannot be read back by the public — the forms accept submissions but return nothing readable — and access to the internal admin area is restricted to accounts we have explicitly granted an editorial role. Public forms are rate limited and validated on the server. Traffic is served over HTTPS.

No online service can promise perfect security, and we do not claim to; we describe here the controls we operate.

Subscriber records are kept while you are subscribed, and are deleted when you ask us to remove you. Business enquiries and the accounts they become are kept for as long as we are working together or reasonably expect to. Article view counts are aggregate measurements and are kept indefinitely. If you ask us to delete your information, we remove it unless we are required to keep a record.

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@pawroundup.com from the address concerned, or tell us which address to look up, and we will action it and confirm when it is done.

PawRoundup is written for adult pet owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
